Can A Spreading Rash Be Due To A Parasite?

I am a social worker in a school building. I have a student that came back from a visit to Puerto Rico with a rash. It has spread and is raised in some areas. SHe is financially unable to see a doctor. School will not allow her to be in the classroom without medical attention. Could this be a parasite?
