Can Adenoids Inflammation Be Cured Without Surgery?

My son is 10yrs old and has difficulty in breathing during night due to adenoids inflammation. Recently ent speciliast diagnosed and has asked for x rays and some more test. As per him, if it is large then surgery is req. My query is that is it curable without surgery.
