Can Alcohol Be Safely Consumed While Being On Percocet?

I have been prescribed percocet 5/325 since January for pain r/t to femoral nerve damage as a result of surgery. My Rx is to take 2 every 4 - 6 hours for pain. I usually take a max of 6/day. My question is regarding alcohol consumption. I have a wedding to go to today. I have not taken any percocet since 9:30pm last night. Is it safe to drink alcohol or is it wise to completely avoid it?
