Can Birth Control Pills Be Continued Normally After Missing For One Day?

Hi, I am currently on birth control and I accidentally missed my pill yesterday and got my period today. Should I continue to take my birth control (just take the one from yesterday and today today) or should I let my period run its course and start a new prescription next sunday?
