Can Birth Control Pills Be Stopped In The Middle Of The Pack?

Having run 2 packs together I am almost now halfway through my 2nd of these packs, however the timing won't be good when I finish this pack either. Can I take a 7 day break in the middle of this pack instead & then continue another pack on afterwards. I just guessed that I've been taking the pill continuously so it is similar to taking the normal break, just in a funny place.



Hoping this will ease my emotional mood swings too. Think I perhaps need a break & just wondering if I can take it sooner than the end of the (second continuous) pack? If this is possible also, will I still be protected? I have been sexually active but my boyfriend is now away for 10 days.
