Can Birth Control Pills Cause Anxiety And Depression?

I believe that my birth control is causing me to have depressionand mood swings. I switched less than 5 months ago from tri-sprintec, to sprintec. I now find myself feeling anxious, having depressed or hopeless thoughts, over thinking, and crying for no reason. It was bad last month, and then I was better- normal even- for a couple weeks. Then when my period returned, so did the symptoms. That's when I made the connection. Could my birth control be causing these feelings?
