Can Black Silk Or Chrome-gut Sutures Be Replaced With Vicryl Sutures?

I am having a gum graft this week. I was worried about the periodontist using vicryl sutures because i am allergic to resins, vinyls, plastics etc. he offered black silk or chromegut sutures. my allergist will not return my calls. can you advise me? i know vicryl is polyglactin which is a thermoplastic.
