Can Bowel Motion Be Yellow Colour Due To Heavy Menstrual Cycle?

I am currently peri-menopausal and missed a period altogether last month (possibly due to stress as my father was taken into hospital). I am now having a very heavy period and my faeces are turning yellowy. Is this because of the heavy period do you think? I have no bought some iron tablets as I thought that losing so much blood I may become anaemic again as I did 12 months ago when I started having a 24 day cycle instead of my normal 31 day cycle.
