Can Cessation Of Tobacco Stop Leukoplakia?

I stopped using smokeless tobacco a week ago after about 3yrs. of use. I am concerned about the inside of my mouth as it seems to have signs of oral lukoplakia behind my upper lip and my lower lip; especially on the sides. I am wondering if it can heal on its own with the cessation of tobacco?
