Can Coil IUD Cause Back Pain?

I got the coil fitted and within two weeks i was getting dull heavy pains in my back and along my side. I went to my doctor to see was this connected to the coil I was advised this wasnt but that she couldnt find the strings of my coil? Is this something to worry about, could the problems be connected? I am waiting to get a scan done to find the threads
