Can Diabetes Cause Nausea And Compacted Bowels?

I have been recently diagnosed diabetes not insulin dependent. Lately I have been feeling nauseated and my bowls are compacted. I went to the emergency room and they told me that the lining of my stomach is shredding or falling apart and that this was due to the diabetes. Is that a true statement.
