Can Ear Infection, Dull Eardrums, Hearing Loss Be Due To Viral Illness?

I have been told I have dull eardrums and I have also noticed some hearing loss. I had a viral illness about 3 months ago which resulted in a ear infection. I have since then noticed the hearing loss although I have no pain in my ears. Could this still be the effects of the viral illness?
