Can Ear Infection With Drum Perforation, Wax, Pain And Discharge Be Treated?

Hi, I have had ear infection for 11 wks now and the GP has found a perforation to my ear drum. He cant be sure if its there from the start or not as I have had alot of wax around that area. But when I had first signs of something being wrong I was in soo much pain and alot of discharge. this started less than 48 hrs after a two leg flight. Could my ear drum have been perforated for this long?
