Can Esophageal Spasms Feel Like And Be Mistaken For Heart

Can esophageal spasms feel like and be mistaken for heart palpitations? I went to the hospital today and they said my heart was fine in that time frame but cant say why I had experienced what I thought were palpitations. Could frequent acid reflux cause some sort of nerve issues and spasms in my esophagus mimicking heart palpitations?
