Can Food Poisoning Cause Delayed Period?

I got food poisoning and was puking and pooping for 4 hours and now today I ve just felt nausea and I ve been pooping all day, my period was suppose to come yesterday but all I had was spotting today and yesterday could food poisoning delay my period?
