Can Foot Wart Removal Cause Allergic Skin Reactions?

I had a topical treatment for a wart removal on my foot and hand a couple of weeks ago, and ever since my entire body has been breaking out in hives. Is it common or even possible to be allergic to that treatment? If so, how can I treat my hives/allergic reaction?
