Can Generic Form Of Mucinex Cause Chapped Lips And Dryness?

I was taking a generic form of Mucinex up until recently, and I m experiencing the most severe case of chapped lips I ve ever had. I constantly have lip gloss, Chapstick or Carmex on, and my lips are still severely chapped. I live in a warm climate (L.A.), so it s not like it s windy and snowy out. Can those types of medication that break up congestion cause dryness?
