Can Hair Colour Cause Burning Sensation In Scalp And Ear?

I used an OTC hair color and I think I may have had it on too long. This was almost 3 weeks ago and my scalp and ears still burn. Also I now have headache pain on the lower part of my head. I've also began using a slew of skin products including retinol and hydroquinone. Could any of these products be causing the burn or is it the hair color...or something worse?
