Hello doctor, I have been diagnosed with PCOs 2 years ago(25 yrs of age now). I used to have regular periods till that time. I consulted a doctor when I had no periods for 1.5 months. From the initial examination, my gynaec told me that can be because of stress at work(I was working in IT at that time) or change in food, climate etc as I have moved to a different state far from my hometown. I got my periods immediately after I had medicines but in the following few months my periods became frequent and irregular. I used to have 2 periods in one month with 15-20 days gap. I consulted another gynaec and was diagnosed with PCOs through scanning. She prescribed metformin tablets and asked me continue for almost an year..I started getting regular periods after a few months later, but I continued the medication. She asked me to discontinue just before my marriage. I resigned from my job to move with my husband to a different country where I don't have work permit. It has been 10 months of married life and we have plans of a baby after completing 1 yr. My periods have been quite regular since last year and for last 6 months i am getting periods on my 26,27 or 28th day. A major change that happened to me was since last year I am having very good bowel movements(i have to rush to the bathroom) as I had severe constipation since puberty. I have gradually gained weight (noticed 5 kg gain in last 4 yrs, 155cm,63kgs now) and have a less active lifestyle. I have been loosing hair since puberty(my mother also has thin and short hair) and noticed acne on my upper arms and butts which keeps appearing and dissappearing (was severe an year ago and herbal medicines didnt work).I don't have any other skin problem or facial hair.I usually have a balanced diet with more vegetables and no red meat. Is it possible that I completely recovered from PCOs as I have regular periods now??Can my history of constipation in any ways related to this? Can I have a healthy and safe pregnancy now?
Thanks a lot doctor.
