Can Heavy Lifting Cause Bleeding?

ever since i moved to a different department where i work. i have had to lift heavy objects and since then i have been bleeding; but, i have been away from that department for a week and the bleeding seems to have stopped? Should i be worried or just try not to lift heavy objects?
