Can History Of Fractured Femur Cause Throbbing Pain In The Area?

About 20 years ago I was hit by a car, fracturing my right femur and leaving a hematoma about diameter of a grapefruit. Lately I have noticed throbbing pain in that area that goes from my hip to my knee. Could I have done more damage to the hematoma?
