Can Large Flakes Of Dandruff Be Lice Or Blood?

I'm wondering if Dandruff can cause blood clots? I'm worried because I've recently had the following symptoms: Dry scalp, it itches, and has sores, and the dandruff comes off in large flakes. I'm worried it might be hair lice. How to determine if it's blood, or lice?
