Can Mouth Ulcer Cause Throat Pain? Can It Be Triggered

Can mouth ulcer cause throat pain? Can it be triggered by some wine, champagne or other alcohol? I went to the docs last year - he told me I had mouth ulcer and hence the irritated throat. Prescribed a mouth wash and sent me about my way. I have been pretty fine since, forgot about the condition. Here and there, I get some throat pain and see some mouth lesions after I drink 1 or 2 glasses of wine or champagne. Not all the time though, I feel like it depends on the type of wine or champagne. Are there specific ingredients that trigger mouth ulcer/ throat pain?
