Can One Missed Birth Control Pill Cause Pregnancy?

I missed taking a birth control pill by 8 hours, have I still been protected? I have not missed taking any more pills. I usually take them at around 11 every night, but I forgot one night and woke up and took it immediately the following morning at six. How much of a risk do I have of being pregnant from missing this single pill?
