Can People Having Infrequent Migraines With Aura Take Birth Control Pills?

I am thinking of going on the birth control pill, yet suffer from infrequent migraines with aura. I have read that I shouldn't go on it because of this, but only get them about 3 times a year, and haven't gotten one since December.
