Can Removal Of Nuva Ring Before Due Time Cause Problems?

I am on the Nuva ring and use it faithfully every month. My husband and I rarely have sex without a condom, but my last two periods came either the day or the day after I took the ring out, when before they would come 4-5 days later. I also have tender nipples which I don't remember feeling like this before. Any suggestions as to why?
