Can Removal Of Ovaries Prevent Cancer Re-occurrence?

I am 45yr on remission after having BC stage II no lymph nodes, I had mastectomy and chemotherapy. I was told yesterday by my doctor that there other options for a more effective medication than tamoxifen , which I have been taking for 2 years. In order to take the new meds I would have to be on menopause or remove my ovaries...I wonder if removing my ovaries would be the right thing to do it to try to prevent cancer reoccurrence, Thank you
