Can Scabies Causing Itchy And Scabbing Patches Be Treated?

We (me and boyfriend) have what seems to be scabies. We have done at least 4 permethrin cream treatments over the past 4 months. I still seem to have something. Small, itchy patches around the waistline, arm pits, and buttock in the crease near the anus for me and in the middle of the back, middle of chest, and lower right leg for my boyfriend. His are more crusty looking than mine. What should we try next????
Age 42, 5' 9", 208 lbs for me
Age 67, 5' 6", 137 lbs for boyfriend
Started last July with itchy red raised papules all over buttocks for me that gradually changed to what I have now. Boyfriend became covered in his areas about 4 months ago. My daughter had something very similar to begin with but hers has since disappeared. She is taking Valtrex daily for her Herpes.
