Can Sex Trigger Period?

I just had sex for the first time last night, but it was not really like all the way sex... it was just like in and out a few times. and now today I am bleeding like im on my period....could that have triggered my period or is it from something else that i need to be worried about? And it was the guys first time too so i know that he didnt have anything. im just kinda scared please help!
