Can Shingles Cause Low Hemoglobin Levels?

I had a patient come into the health dept today and say their doctor told them they had a low hemoglobin because of the case of shingles that they had. I have never heard of shingles causing anemia and have been looking a researching yet not able to find anything on it...can you lead me to a site with additional information on this or help me understand why etc
