Can Sinus Spray Cause Discolored Growth On Tongue?

I have had a bad cold for over a week and a few days ago inhaled vicks sinus spray. This trickled down the back of my throat and really burnt my throat and tongue for a couple of hours.

I have now developed a sore white skin tag type growth in the area on my tongue that the spray burnt. Is this the cause of this skin tag and will it disappear by itself?
