Can Smoking Marijuana Cause Thinning Of Hair?

I smoke a lot of marijuana recreationally and have been for about 2 years now. I also have alopecia areats and have been completely bald before when I was much younger. All of the sudden it's decided to act up again and my alopecia jas been continually getting worse each day. My hair is very thin now and I'm wondering if heavy pot smoking has anything to do with it?
