Can Steroid Cause Imbalance In Menstrual Cycle?

i recently had poison oak and at the same time i had just started my period. this was about 12 days ago, my doctor prescribed a steroid and also gave me a cortizone shot. since then i have not stopped bleeding from my period. typically i only bleed for about 5 days. can the steroid cause an imbalance in my cycle?
