Can Sympathectomy Relieve Severe Pain Due To Damaged S1-S2 Nerve?

I am not a doctor. But I was in a horseback riding accident 14 years ago and fractured my pelvis and crushed my sacrum. I have damage to the S1-S2 nerve. The nerve there was crushed for 4 days before they found the injury. I was told that there is a procedure called a sympathectomy. Is this something that might help me with my pain issue?
