Can Taking Ibuprofen Be Safe For CFS?

Hi,My Dad has servere M.E/CFS.
He is currently being prescribed ibprofeoun at the moment which does not really help him at all- as his pain is extreme everyday, what else could he take or be prescribed by the doctor for the pain, he feels that his life is worthless as everyday he can hardly move.. i hate seeing him like this please could I have some advice?
