Can Tampon Go Far Inside That One Can No Longer Pull It Out?

Is it possible for a tampon to go so far up where u are no longer able to find it and pull it out? last night i wore a tampon out to a party and when using the washroom I do not recall taking it out but was unable to find it. it may not even be in me but i am not 100% sure. what do i do?
