Can Uterus Fibroids Be Cancerous?

i have just been diagnosed with uterus fibroids and i am waiting for a scan i dont have heavy periods or blkeeding between periods but i do have a little heavy feeling i can also feel my fibroid when i lie flat om my back and before i empty my bladder could it be cancerous
