Can Walnuts And Kiwi Fruits Be Consumed While On Treatment For Hemiparesis?

Hi Dr, My father had a hemiparesis last month I.e., On February 2015. Initially he was Hospitalized for 5 days then discharged. Now he is taking daily physical therapy at home. We noticed little improvement compared to the beginning of the stroke. He is having diabetic & bp. My question is can we add walnuts & kiwi fruits as a part of his diet ?
