Can Weight Lifting Aggravate Medication Controlled BP?

My blood pressure is 109 over 69. I am a 69 year old man with high blood pressures and take medication for it. Have been feeling dizzy a little bit the last couple days upon wakening. I take my blood pressure and medication regularly. I lift some light weights every other day to keep in shape. Could this be detrimental in any way? Should I be concerned enough to go to the emergency room?
