Can You Tell Me Why My Toddler Might Have A

Can you tell me why my toddler might have a purple mark on his ear? It just appeared yesterday morning, I thought it was pen and tried to wipe it off but it wasn't! I don't remember him bumping it and it doesn't seem to hurt. He is 2.5 years old. Thank you
