Cat Scan Today Noted Larger Kidney Stone On Right,multiple Smaller

Cat scan today noted larger kidney stone on right,multiple smaller stones on left. Been feeling minor pain for approx two weeks prior. Prescribed tamsulosin. Pain level currently minor, was told larger stone should be passable but will be painful. Am I to start tamsulosin now at minor pain level or wait?
