(Cholesteatoma) From Being Young I Have Had Constant Ear Infections

From being young I have had constant ear infections which lead to multiple operations to implant grommets and to remove cholesteatoma once in 2008, then 2010, 2012 and 2014 as well as mastoiditis the last time.
About 4 months ago I one of my docs who told me I needed an opp on my ear again due to having holes in my ear drum (again!!!)
Worried now, as I was told I could have died 2 times due to infection being extremely close to brain.
Still no contact from the hospital to arrange the dates.
Discharge from ear is thick, smelly and recently been receiving pain in ear.
Advice??
