Could I Be Allergic To A Specific Type Of Onion If My Left Eye Itches And Produces Onion-smelling Mucus After Eating It?

Hi, please I ate food with onion but it seems there was an allergy trigger cos after some hours, my left eye began to itch and I scratched them, mucus began to produce and they smelt like onions. Does this mean that I’m allergic to onion or a specie of onion cos this doesn’t happen all the time and happens randomly as well as I can’t seem to pin point what I’m allergic to plus the left eye is always the one affected. Thank you
