Could Yaz Birth Control Cause Erratic Periods?

I was started on Yaz birth control about a month ago. I got my period last week. It usually only lasts no longer than 6 days at the most but it lasted 8, stopped for a day then I bled for one more day. It stopped for about 5 days to a week, but then yesterday I started bleeding again and it hasn't stopped yet.
