Could a hydrocele and congestive heart failure be related? My grandpa is 88 years old and he has been diagnosed with a hydrocele. The doctors have jerked him around for the past 8 weeks: the family doctor kept saying he couldn't help him and sent him to the urologist, the urologist said he needed to see the family doctor and this went on for 8 weeks until I said this isn't going to happen anymore. He was admitted in the hospital today and they said he has congestive heart failure and they won't fix the hydrocele because of the heart. He was healthy for an 88 year old man. He never had heart problems or edema. Over the past 2 months he's retained about 10-15 pounds of fluid, to the point where it's seeping out of his legs. The 2 doctors that he has been going to swear 1 problem isn't related to the other. I don't see how it's not. They have him on lasix to get rid of the fluid but he has the hydrocele which hinders getting that fluid out. What is your opinion? How do I get him the help he needs to? I'm afraid these doctors are going to mess around and basically kill him.
