Could A Slight, Tender Lump Near My Old Hernia Scar Indicate A New Hernia?

I m having slight discomfort down in the area of a hernia scar from a repair in 1992. A slight lump that is a little tender to the touch. It s not really keeping me from doing things a want to do, but it s got a little bit of a numbness - no discoloration - and it s got me wondering if I could have another hernia near the same spot.
