Could A Small Hyperdense Nodule On Pitutary Gland Be Malignant?

my son just had a cat scan and a small 5mm hyperdense nodule was noted on the pituatari gland. In Canada he has to wait 4 months for an MRI so I have booked one in Buffalo - 2 days. What are the chances this nodule can be malignant? If it is benign, what treatments are there to have the nodule removed. Surgery?
