Could A Virus Cause Persistent Headache, Sweating And Neck Pain?

Husband has had a severe headache, fever, chills, sweating and neck pain for the past seven days. Doctors have tested blood, urine, and flu swab. Fever has subsided, but headache, sweating, and neck pain are still here. Doctor says its just a virus. Could it be something else??
