Could Bacterial Infection Prevent Pregnancy?

My fiance an I have been having unprotected sex for the past 1yr. the last 3times have been sometime during ovulation with no positive result i found out a couple of days ago i have either a bacterial infection or trich could this be the reason why i have yet to conciece?should it be easyer now im being treated i also have 3 children (youngest 4yrs.)
