Could Blood In Bowels Be Due To Food Allergy?

My daughter has food allergies and ate something last night and developed hives and had stomach issues and diarrea all night. She told me that now she has blood with her bowel movements. Is the blood a reaction to her allergy or is this any indication of a more serious problem?
